How does proxy borrowing work?

Faculty submit a Proxy Authorization Form to allow another user to check out Georgia State University library materials and pick up interlibrary loan (ILL) or GIL Express books on their behalf. The faculty themselves must make requests for materials. Under this arrangement, the instructor agrees to respond to notices, returning/renewing materials on time, and pay any fees for lost or damaged books.

When check-out or pick up, the proxy presents their PantherCard and tells the library staff that they are checking out or picking up books for the instructor. The Library will verify the proxy relationship before completing any transaction.

Email circulation if you have questions about proxy authorization or questions about materials checked out through a proxy.
