Can I request a streaming video in SWANK, AVON, Kanopy, or Films on Demand?

SWANK, Academic Video Online (AVON), Films on Demand, and Kanopy are databases of streaming videos available to Georgia State University students, faculty, and staff. The library does not purchase these videos, but pays a subscription or licensing fee to allow our users access. Sometimes the licenses expire or the database makes the film no longer available.

  • Kanopy films may also be requested through the Kanopy database.
  • SWANK films may be requested using our SWANK request form. (Faculty Only)
  • Use our Suggest for Purchase form to request a video to which we do not currently have access.

Depending on the current budget, acceptance of requests may be restricted to faculty only or may be suspended until funds become available. Subscriptions to individual films are not possible in some cases.

For more about videos, consult your subject librarian or Perimeter campus librarian or see our Video at GSU guide.
