Q. I need help finding literary criticism and scholarly journal articles for my literature paper. How do I get started?

To find databases containing articles about works of literature:

1. Go to the Library Homepage
2. Find "Go to Databases by Subject" in the center
3. Select "English" from the drop-down menu as seen in the image below.

The resulting page is a list of databases useful for literary research. Bloom's Literature, For Students, and Literature Online (LION) are three great places to start and usually what we recommend to those just starting their search.

Another great place to start is by visiting our English 1102 Online Research Guide. This guide will offer of help from search tips for literary criticism, a detailed list of databases, and a research strategy to help you along the way.
