The University library has several resource sharing mechanisms so GSU students, faculty and staff can borrow items from other libraries.

  • Intercampus Loan allows borrowing circulating materials from other GSU Campuses.
  • GIL Express allows borrowing books from other USG libraries.
  • Interlibrary Loan (usually through the ILLiad system) allows borrowing of materials from outside the USG and materials not available through GIL Express (e.g. articles) from USG Libraries.

The purpose of interlibrary loan through is to provide students, faculty, and staff access to materials not found in GSU Library and not available through GIL Express, and to serve as a resource for materials from our collection for all eligible requesting libraries. All interlibrary loan functions shall be directed by and in compliance with United States Copyright Law and its guidelines.

Books may take a few days or more to arrive. Some articles requested through interlibrary loan may be delivered electronically, taking only a day or so to arrive.
