Group Study Room Policy

The University Library provides study rooms for groups of two (2) or more persons to currently enrolled Georgia State University students, faculty and staff for the purpose of group study, team-based projects, and collaborative research. Permanent assignment of rooms is not made for any academic group or organization.

Group study rooms require a reservation using the online reservation system https://lib.gsu.edu/rooms.

Atlanta

  • Reservations are limited to three (3) hours per day, per campus ID.
  • An individual may use a group study room but only if no reservation is currently in place for that room and must vacate the room when a group asks to use it. A patron may not reserve a group study room for individual study.
  • Groups using study rooms on the 5th floor agree to keep speaking and electronic devices at a low volume to avoid disrupting those using open spaces on the silent floor.
  • If you are unable to resolve a dispute over the use of a room, please ask for assistance at a library service desk.

Perimeter

  • Reservations are limited to two (2) hours per day, per campus ID.
  • Due to limited availability of study rooms, groups arriving more than 15 minutes may forfeit their reservation.
  • Rooms are locked spaces. Keys are available for checkout from a service desk (PantherCard required.) The person who scheduled the reservation is responsible for checking out the study room key.
  • Students using study rooms agree to keep speaking and electronic devices at a respectful volume to avoid disrupting those studying nearby.

Cooperation and courtesy are appreciated. Patrons who repeatedly violate this policy may be blocked from reserving a group study room for one semester.
