You can order a book (or other items) not owned by Georgia State University or other libraries in the University System of Georgia system by placing an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request. However, it's always a good idea to first check if the item is available at another USG school. Usually, requesting the item this way is faster than getting it through an Interlibrary Loan.

To learn how to search USG for an item, visit our great FAQ on how to request an item through the USG system. This will provide step-by-step instructions.

If you can't find it at a USG library, then go ahead and place an Interlibrary Loan request.

To place an Interlibrary Loan request:

  1.  If you haven't used ILL before, fill in your contact information and click Save.
Click Book (or another item type) in the left column to start your request.

  1. Fill in the blanks. For books, author and title are usually enough, but the more information you can provide, the better.

  1. If available, the item will be delivered to the GSU campus library of your choice for you to pick up. You’ll receive an email letting you know when it has arrived.

For more help, ask a librarian.
